Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been sentenced to ten years of detainment by the Special CBI Court of Panchkula regarding 10 years old assault case. Special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh articulated the quantum of discipline in alternative court in Rohtak imprison. Baba Ram Rahim was held blameworthy on charges of assault of a female fan in 1999 on Friday.

While the arraignment, supposedly, had requested the greatest discipline for the assault convict, the Defense had contended that Ram Rahim Singh was a social specialist and had worked for the welfare of individuals, so the judge should take a tolerant view.
