Yogi Adityanath is the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was a popular choice of BJP among 325 legislators. He was born in Uttarakhand on 5 th June 1972 in Panchur village. On March 18, 2017, the legislators of Bharatiya Janata Party BJP, unanimously select Yogi Adityanath the Member of Parliament of Gorakhpur as the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

The original name of Yogi Adityanath is Ajay Singh Bisht. Later, he took the name as Adityanath. Being a famous MP of Gorakhpur and active member of BJP, Yogi Adityanath is elected as the Chief Minister of UP. He took the in-charge of new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, Mar 19, 2017, at Kanshiram Smriti Upvan. He took oath in presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and other important leaders of the party.

1. He was the youngest member of 12 th Lok Sabah. He became the member of Lok Sabha at the age of 26 in 1998

2. Yogi Adityanath runs several schools and colleges. He also runs hospitals.

3. One of the important Facts about Yogi Adityanath is, he did his Bachelor degree in Maths. He has done his BSc Maths in Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Universtiy in Uttar Pradesh.

4. Yogi Adityanath became a disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath when he was 21, then the head priest of Gorakhnath Math.

5. The name ‘Yogi Aditya Nath’ was given by his guru Avaidyanath. Even though he is a non-Brahmin, he was declared as the successor of his guru Mahant Avaidyanath.

6. He learned the Hindu texts, and was trained as a Sanyasi.

7. Yogi Adityanath become MP of Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency for about 5 times

8. The political assignments of Yogi Adityanath started in 1996. At that time, he was the in-charge of managing the election campaign of Mahant Avaidyanath.

9. Yogi Adityanath was declared as an apparent for Avaidyanath in 1998 when he retired from active politics. After that, he was declared as the next nominee for Lok Sabah polls.

10. Yogi Adityanath is not only the CM of Uttar Pradesh, but also the head priest of the Gorakhnath temple. This was situated in Gorakhpur of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

11. After being in BJP for a long time, Yogi Adityanath was working as the MP of Gorakhpur in 1998. He was the youngest MP of 12th Lok Sabha.

13. Also in 2005, he led a purification drive called Ghar Wapasi. Under this drive, many people returned back to Hinduism.
